How we verify reviews
A review only counts when we know there is a real company behind it. Here you can read how we check that, when we refuse a review and what a vendor can and cannot do.
Who may write a review?
Anyone who uses or used a tool in their company. We check in two ways:
- Work email verified: you sign in with a confirmed email address on your company’s domain, not Gmail or Telenet.
- Company verified: your company number is confirmed in the EU VAT register (VIES).
Employees of a vendor cannot review their own tool. We recognise that from the email domain.
Which label does a review carry?
Every review shows how the reviewer was verified and how the review came about:
- Own initiative: the reviewer came to the site themselves.
- Invited by the vendor: through a link the vendor shared with its customers.
- Invited by us: we asked the reviewer for a review ourselves.
When do we not publish a review?
We only refuse a review when it breaks these rules:
- It is not your own experience, or you work for the vendor or a competitor.
- You received something in return for the review.
- The review contains personal data, insults or advertising.
We never refuse a review because it is negative. A critical review that follows the rules is published just like a positive one.
What can a vendor do?
- Reply: every vendor that claimed its profile may reply publicly. Free, also without a paid plan.
- Invite customers: with its own link. Those reviews get the label “Invited by the vendor”.
A vendor cannot have a review removed, hidden or placed at the top. It may not give reviewers anything in return for a review either.
When do you see reviews on a profile?
From five published reviews we show the stars, the distribution and the reviews themselves. That way one opinion does not shape the picture. Reviews do not change the score from our published method: that score stays based on verifiable features and prices.
